Directions to North Hill (post code EX31 4LG)
Leave the M5 at Junction 27 and follow the A361 to Barnstaple.
When you approach Barnstaple there are two options to get to North Hill.
Option 1 takes you through Barnstaple which can be very busy at peak times with slow moving traffic.
Option 2 bypasses Barnstaple and is recommended at busy times.
Option 1
As you approach Barnstaple turn right at the roundabout sign-posted A39 to Lynton and the Hospital. Follow signs to the Hospital which involves several roundabouts with right turns. Proceed until you see the hospital on your right and go straight through the lights. At this point I would recommend you switch off the SatNav as it will not take you to North Hill despite you having entered the right postcode.
Shortly after this turn left on the B3230 signposted Ilfracombe and Blakewell Fisheries. After about ½ mile turn sharp right opposite the entrance to Blakewell Fisheries (big blue sign). After ¼ mile turn left signed North Hill and follow the mile long drive. Please take it slowly over the speed bumps. There are four strategically placed grass passing places on the right in the unlikely event that you meet any traffic. Please do not pull onto the verge on the valley side to let cars past, use the passing places.
When you pull into the yard please park and you will see a long white farmhouse to your left. Please find a door and we will show you to your cottage. If you can't find anybody please call 01271 850611
Option 2
As you approach Barnstaple at the roundabout turn left signposted Bideford (A39) and Bude A361. At the Bishops Taunton Junction Roundabout go straight on. At Lake Roundabout turn right to Barnstaple and Ilfracombe A361. At Sticklepath Junction go straight on over the new bridge signposted Ilfracombe A361. Get in right hand lane as you approach lights and at second set turn right signposted Lynton A39 and Town Centre. At next lights filter and turn left signposted Lynton & Ilfracombe. At next lights opposite Texaco garage turn left signposted Lynton and Ilfracombe and Hospital.
